We love our volunteers to experience as much of a country as possible, so when a lovely family from the UK wanted to volunteer on our Rhino & Elephant Conservation Programme, and visit Victoria Falls, we were more than happy to assist!
Itinerary: 3 nights Victoria Falls / 7 nights Rhino & Elephant Conservation volunteering
When: December 2018
Victoria Falls accommodation: Victoria Falls River Lodge
“Victoria Falls was wonderful. We loved River Lodge and will definitely be recommending it to our friends. We had a lovely guide, Christopher, who made it very special for us. When some of our group moved to the Island Treehouse Suites, they were extremely accommodating and fed us all there. It was a very special experience.”
Volunteer project: Imire: Rhino & Elephant Conservation Programme
“We arrived in the dark due to our plane being delayed, and the house was very dark. However, when we woke up the next morning and saw the view we were captivated. We were looked after brilliantly by Trymore, who absolutely made our stay complete.
We loved all the activities enormously, and we were never bored. We were riding with Judy, walking with the rhinos and elephants, feeding the crocodile and the lion. Going to the wild side to find the rhinos there, seeing the cave paintings, fishing, kayaking, rock climbing, and a lovely walk to the top of a nearby mountain. The pool at the house was lovely as was the garden. All in all we loved it all.
The staff were great. The cooking was basic, but their baking skills were fabulous – great bread / cakes / pancakes / scones etc. Breakfasts were delicious and we were ALWAYS hungry having got up early.
We would definitely recommend it to friends and we honestly had the best family Christmas.”
