As the world slowly reopens to international travellers, we take a look at which of our volunteer programmes in Africa are now open and ready to receive volunteers. We’ll also give you some guidance on which countries are open to international tourists and what you need to know before you go.

π³π¦ Namibia – OPEN!
Our projects in Namibia are already up and running and have each started receiving volunteers, which we are delighted about! Find out about entry requirements for Namibia.
Elephant Conservation & Community Outreach: OPEN!
Are there any restrictions or changes to the programme?
Some contact within communities may be limited and masks must be worn in all public spaces, but both Build Week and Patrol Week will continue. There are more than 60 building projects waiting for volunteers to complete, so you will still be making a real difference.
Visit the project page for programme dates and travel information.
Namibia Wildlife Sanctuary: OPEN!
Are there any restrictions or changes to the volunteer programme?
Masks are required to be worn in public spaces, but the wildlife programme continues as normal. The animal care work is 24/7, so volunteers are definitely needed! The project is open over Christmas and New Year, when volunteers are desperately needed to help care for the animals. Enjoy Christmas with a difference!
Visit the project page for programme dates and travel information.
Large Carnivore Conservation: Partially Open
The two project research sites are very remote and with the travel restrictions, a minimum of six volunteers are required to run each site. At the moment, we are suggesting that interested research volunteers first book to join the Namibia Wildlife Sanctuary, and get together with a group of volunteers there to organise a research trip.
Guaranteed Large Carnivore Conservation bookings are being taken from February 2021.
