We know that the thought of travelling might be daunting, so we have put a number of measures in place to enable you to book with confidence. We want you to know that your money is safe, the project is safe and that you are fully informed every step of the way about all the travel regulations and restrictions.
It doesn’t look like Covid-19 is going anywhere fast, so here are four ways that we are keeping you travelling with confidence until the pandemic ends.
Four ways to travel confidently during Covid-19:
1. Flexible booking terms
Future bookings are essential so that our project partners can plan ahead and ensure they are able to survive a lean period, while still protecting, supporting and feeding their wildlife and communities.
We have relaxed our booking terms and conditions to ensure you feel able to book in advance. This means that if you book a project and have any hesitation, or if travel advice changes, you can change your dates, project or destination without being charged any fees. We want you to have peace of mind over your booking from start to your arrival in your host country.
Our booking and payment terms summaryΒ (for full details please visit ourΒ updated terms and conditionsΒ page):
- Projects can be booked and confirmed upon payment of either a $300 or 50% refundable (or transferable) deposit (refunds are subject to our booking terms);
- Projects can be postponed due to Covid-19 up to the day prior to travel;
- Credits are available for travel within 12 months of your project start date (note that volunteers may have to pay a supplement to cover price increases).
2. Low deposits and late payments
We have adjusted our payment terms and kept deposits low to make sure you can book with the greatest financial peace of mind.
- Book projects with a low $300 deposit, payable at the time of booking
- Ordinarily this deposit is non-refundable, but if you have to cancel your booking due to Covid-19 restrictions, we will offer you a refund (less bank charges and a $50 admin fee)
- Final payments can be made up to the day prior to arrival for some projects, and just two weeks before you fly for most.
This gives you the most flexibility in seeing what the travel situation is in both your country of departure and your arrival.
3. Full health and safety reviews
We are working with our project partners to ensure they have done full health and safety reviews and put comprehensive policies and procedures in place to ensure your safety and the safety of their staff and communities. Please ask to see your project’s health and safety policy at any time.
4. Pre-departure support
We are here to answer all your questions and address any concerns you may have. No question is too unusual or concern too small – please ask about anything! This includes questions about travel, insurance, flights, visas, your arrival at the project and what activities you will be doing or not doing.
We hope that these measures will help you book and travel with confidence until the world returns to normal.
